I really only have one word for this device and that word is Awesome. I've worked in the IT industry for over thirty-five years and I have been experimenting with smart home automation for decades. In my experience it is rare to find a device like this that does the job so well at such a good price.

The unit itself has that very high quality, expensive feel about it. The box contains all the extras you might need, which I was quite surprised about (often manufacturers charge extra for these bits). The instructions are excellent. Not only are they clear and simple to follow, they also work really well. Even with Amazon devices quite often things take a bit of messing about. I purchased this item in Spain so it had typical Spanish delivery times (even Amazon Prime orders rarely arrive within a few days here) and the instructions were only in English (which I think is hilarious).

So, the actual Switchbot Lock itself then. It takes about ten minutes to install and configure then you have an automated door lock. It works well with the NFC tags (supplied) or the Bluetooth on your phone. If you are feeling big and clever the addition of the mini hub (a further two minutes to install) allows you to control your door with Alexa (of course you have to tick a box and provide a pin to unlock it).

This is a really good bit of kit that does exactly what I want (on a less than standard door lock) for a very good price.

La instalacion es fácil con instrucciones desde la app. Con adhesivo o tornillo. Múltiples accesorios para adaptarse al bombin y puerta. Apenas se escucha el motor, siendo más ruidoso el propio bulón de la puerta. Quizás es visualmente más feo que la competencia, dejando la llave interior visible desde arriba y lateral.
El teclado dactilar muy suave, y en caso de probar varias veces con otras huellas o códigos se autobloquea y recibes notificación.
Si alguien te arranca el teclado, empieza a pitar y te manda un correo.
La app en Android va perfecta y se enlaza con Alexa fácilmente, pero no puedes abrir con voz sin decirle un código pin.
Las pilas parecen de buena duración, fácil cambiarlas.
La detección dactilar relativamente rápida, se puede mejorar. 100 huellas y códigos, y posibilidad de código emergencia con aviso al correo y app.

The lock and keypad work perfectly. Easy to install and to configure in Home Assistant. A charm! Thank you.

Germany with wooden door. Depending on weather this door changes it’s sizes. Thatch’s normal. So Switchbot lock works sometimes not correct, it’s jammed. But it is a different between minus 15 degrees outside in wintertime and 40 degrees plus in summertime. Wood works we say in Germany. Switchbot lock is fine.
