Mostly Good, Noticed One Thing

With the door locked and closed when I approach the lock from inside of the house it somehow senses me and tries to get me to align my face or palm. I would not expect the lock to wake-up when approaching it from inside of the house. Is there a way to fix this? Or will this be fixed in a future update?

Overall I'm a big fan, but automation connections are lacking significantly

I'll start off with the negatives. You do not get any sort of per-user or unique-trigger information from any of the integrations in Home Assistant. Matter-over-Wifi, Switchbot BLE, or Switchbot Cloud. At best, you get door unlocked/locked, door opened/closed. Matter gives the fastest responses. These are fairly important capabilities, for triggering specific automations when a user access the lock. I would also expect that I could manage users from home assistant/api. It's a pipe dream to expect being able to register face/finger/palm data, (but totally doable,) however at a minimum I would expect being able to add/remove/modify PIN codes. Basic functionality that smart home users have had in Z-Wave and Zigbee locks for 20 years with platforms like SmartThings and Hubitat.

Next set of negatives, coming from other fingerprint/code/nfc/app locks, is that you can manage a user as-a-whole on each lock. With Switchbot, I have to go in and modify/delete the face, palms, pin, fingerprint, face, all as separate entities. There's no correlation between them. On Ultraloq it was easy to just enable/disable users that came and went. That's another big feature missing... I cannot just pause or disable a user. I have to create them as a permanent or temporary with expiration date. Not ideal, and honestly not being able to programmatically set codes/access via hass or API would make this lock a non-starter for anyone doing VRBO. That's something I really hope SwitchBot can add in soon, since I actually do have that use-case. Managing it manually from the app would be a nightmare. I would want to tie it into my actual reservations calendar.

Last negative I can think of... but the locks themselves seem to lose track of their magnets very easily. Much worse at this than the U-Bolt Pro Z-Waves these are replacing. 9 times out of ten, I unlock the door, and walk out, and it tells me to step closer for scanning. What? I literally just unlocked the door, and there's a 15 second delay. So yeah it might not know the door is open because the magnets are wonky, but it definitely should know the lock has been disengaged, therefore adjust the scanning/trigger logic. -- Big note for Switchbot, is other brands use an accelerometer as well to handle these situations. IE, my u-bolt would beep if I tried to start closing it with the bolt extended.

Onto the pros. Legitimately all the scanning/trigger methods work wonderfully. I find myself using the palm the most, since it's the fastest if the scanner is paying attention. I've had a few times where I walked up and it wasn't, and I found it faster to use the fingerprint scanner. Overall, pretty happy with this aspect.

I cannot comment on the battery life FULLY, but I can already tell you it's better than the U-Bolt Pro Z-Wave with my Xstar lithium batteries installed. It could be as simple as the power density of the battery pack, but maybe they've made other software/hardware improvements. I would expect this to be seriously worse at batteries due to the approach-awareness/scanning. Maybe it has a mmwave sensor, I have no idea. Could just be firing the IR scanner once a second. Many ways to accomplish that.

In the end, if Switchbot can work on their local implementation of Matter or at least BLE, then that would be tremendous. Expose per-entity trigger information would be absolute bare-minimum that we need as home automation users.
