Great addition. Allow a few hours for the firmware update to arrive for more functionality!

Very happy to have added the Switchbot Remote to my system, which allows actions without having to open up a phone.

After I installed the firmware update, which was automatically offered within a few of hours of initial installation, the Remote was able to be paired with a Plug Mini (initially, it could not). The Remote has been working flawlessly since then, and the time between a button press and the Plug Mini reacting is fairly quick. Installing the update took one or two taps in the app, once the little red triangle indicating the availability of a firmware update was visible on the device's "tile." If you get an error message indicating a failed firmware update, ignore it and try setting up the Remote anyway – the message may or may not be accurate. Updating the firmware may not be necessary for you in the first place, depending upon which firmware shipped with your Remote and which device you are trying to pair it with.

Be sure the Remote works with your intended device. In my case, it did after the update.

2.Any item that is damaged through customer misuse or missing parts due to customer tampering cannot be returned or refunded.

3.If customers choose the wrong rail model subjectively, we will not provide any return or exchange service after this 30-day period has expired.

4.Before returning an item, please make sure that you contact our returns team at support@wondertechlabs.com,this helps us to make sure your return is received in a safe and timely manner. Should you fail to notify us of a return being made,SwitchBot will not be held accountable for loss of stock and/or losses incurred due to negligence when in transit.

Return and Refund Procedure

1.If you are looking to apply for a return or refund,please email the following information to support@wondertechlabs.com, we will send a confirmation email to you within 3 business days of your request.

*A description of the reason for your return

* A video/image that explains the issue

2.We will confirm if the package is unopened or not, and will supply a return address to customer.

3.Customer will then send back the package and device.

4.Customer must then provide a tracking number for their delivery.

5.Our processing centre will confirm there are no issues with the return.6.Refund will be processed.

Note: The time it takes for products to be sent back to our warehouse varies and may take up to as long as 1 month. Our warehouse accepts returns every two weeks . How can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order within 12 hours of order placement, if your order has been submitted for more than 12 hours it cannot be canceled unless it hasn't been shipped out yet.

Please clarify when I need to buy the hub vs. buying just the switch?
Answer: 
If you just want to control a rocker switch or a button either with your mobile phone (via free app and Bluetooth), or set timers inside, the you don’t necessarily need the SwitchBot Hub.

If you want to make the SwitchBots work with Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT and more, or just for remote control, then the Hub is necessary as a Bluetooth to Wi-Fi gateway.

Question: 
Is it possible to have the switch be programmed to run a scene on the hub?

Yes, works great with Alexa and Google Hub.

How would it turn a wall switch on and off?
Answer: 
It has a sticky attachment that allows it to push and pull on a switch. But, it won't work unless the switch is EXTREMELY easy to turn on and off. Very weak motor.
