Presence Sensor build quality and features are great, integration with Homey Pro might be lacking
The Presence Sensor's build quality and features are great, I'm really digging the magnetic stand, however, integration with Homey Pro has been somewhat lackluster. I was hoping to replace my Aqara P1, since Switchbot’s Presence Sensor uses mmWave for more accurate detection. However, after integrating with Homey Pro, I can see the Sensor reacts almost immediately to presence, but, for some reason reporting to Homey Pro for triggering workflows has a >10sec delay. I tried connecting over both the Hub and BLE approaches, neither seemed to improve the response times. I really like Switchbot products and want this sensor to succeed. Hoping Switchbot engineers/devs can help rectify the issue. Thanks.

After a poor experience with the Switchbot sensor this prence sensor os much more reliable. WE use the sensor to trn the light on in our laundry room and when we first obtained the sensor, it worked sometimes. It became more unreliable and eventually, we took the plunge and bought the Presence Detector. This device has proved to be much more reliable and is operating just as we want it to, turning the ligt on when someone laden with clothes enters the room!

Enable Matter For Instant Home Assistant Automations
Let me save you the hour I just spent on this...
For home assistant, you will want Matter + Switchbot Hub 2-- no exceptions.
The home assistant switchbot bluetooth integration is not good for these presence sensors. Bluetooth integration is good for things like blind tilts where you are sending commands to the device. Presence sensors are the opposite, we want to receive events from the device. This sensor will only advertise the current state to bluetooth once every 60 seconds or so-- which is horrible for automations.
Get the Switchbot Hub 2 and enable Matter. You add the Hub 2 as a matter device in home assistant, it takes 2 seconds. Your presense sensors will talk to the hub automatically. Now home assistant will get all events from the presence sensors instantly b/c the Hub 2 + matter.
Switchbot hub 2 allows 8 matter devices, so just be aware, you can add / remove whatever devices you want from your 8 device allocation in the switchbot app. You don't necessarily need your Blind Tilts on matter (b/c you primarily send commands to those devices, not actively read their states).
Lesson here: Use these Presence sensors w/ Matter + Switchbot hub 2 and you'll have a perfect sensor that works instantly in Home Assistant.
AVOID: DO NOT USE Switchbot Bluetooth Integration for these sensors. As your events will be delayed for up to 60 seconds (the default interval switchbot advertises on bluetooth)

This thing is legit and laser accurate. Sleeping guests in the guest room are easily detected, and it works flawlessly with Home Assistant since the 2025.12 update! Definitely will be purchasing more!

The Presence Sensor's build quality and features are great, I'm really digging the magnetic stand, however, integration with Homey Pro has been somewhat lackluster. Presence Sensor build quality and features are great, integration with Homey Pro might be lacking
The Presence Sensor's build quality and features are great, I'm really digging the magnetic stand, however, integration with Homey Pro has been somewhat lackluster. I was hoping to replace my Aqara P1, since Switchbot’s Presence Sensor uses mmWave for more accurate detection. However, after integrating with Homey Pro, I can see the Sensor reacts almost immediately to presence, but, for some reason reporting to Homey Pro for triggering workflows has a >10sec delay. I tried connecting over both the Hub and BLE approaches, neither seemed to improve the response times. I really like Switchbot products and want this sensor to succeed. Hoping Switchbot engineers/devs can help rectify the issue. Thanks.

Much more reliable sensing
After a poor experience with the Switchbot sensor this prence sensor os much more reliable. WE use the sensor to trn the light on in our laundry room and when we first obtained the sensor, it worked sometimes. It became more unreliable and eventually, we took the plunge and bought the Presence Detector. This device has proved to be much more reliable and is operating just as we want it to, turning the ligt on when someone laden with clothes enters the room!

Enable Matter For Instant Home Assistant Automations
Let me save you the hour I just spent on this...
For home assistant, you will want Matter + Switchbot Hub 2-- no exceptions.
The home assistant switchbot bluetooth integration is not good for these presence sensors. Bluetooth integration is good for things like blind tilts where you are sending commands to the device. Presence sensors are the opposite, we want to receive events from the device. This sensor will only advertise the current state to bluetooth once every 60 seconds or so-- which is horrible for automations.
Get the Switchbot Hub 2 and enable Matter. You add the Hub 2 as a matter device in home assistant, it takes 2 seconds. Your presense sensors will talk to the hub automatically. Now home assistant will get all events from the presence sensors instantly b/c the Hub 2 + matter.
Switchbot hub 2 allows 8 matter devices, so just be aware, you can add / remove whatever devices you want from your 8 device allocation in the switchbot app. You don't necessarily need your Blind Tilts on matter (b/c you primarily send commands to those devices, not actively read their states).
Lesson here: Use these Presence sensors w/ Matter + Switchbot hub 2 and you'll have a perfect sensor that works instantly in Home Assistant.
AVOID: DO NOT USE Switchbot Bluetooth Integration for these sensors. As your events will be delayed for up to 60 seconds (the default interval switchbot advertises on bluetooth)

It just works!
This thing is legit and laser accurate. Sleeping guests in the guest room are easily detected, and it works flawlessly with Home Assistant since the 2025.12 update! Definitely will be purchasing more!
