Ik gebruik de Bot en een temperatuursensor met Home Assistant om een mechanische thermostaat voor vloerverwarming in mijn badkamer te overschrijven.
De mechanische thermostaat zorgt ervoor dat de temperatuur enorm schommelt en het veel warmer wordt dan nodig is voordat de thermostaat merkt dat het tijd is om te stoppen met verwarmen. Dit kost mij extra stroom.
Met de Bot heb ik volledige controle over de temperatuur en heb ik deze nu consistent binnen een graad marge. Vergeleken met mijn vorige verbruik bespaar ik ongeveer 5kWh per dag!
De installatie was supersimpel. Ik heb de SwitchBot-app even snel geprobeerd en die leek prima. Het is niet verplicht om een account aan te maken om hem te gebruiken, dus dat was fijn. Maar Home Assistant is mijn belangrijkste platform en de installatie was ook daar eenvoudig.
Ik zou de Bot ten zeerste aanbevelen voor iedereen met vergelijkbare behoeften en de vaardigheden voor een Home Assistant-installatie. Ik kan niet veel zeggen over de app-gebaseerde workflow, maar dat lijkt ook prima.

Ik vind dit een geweldig bedrijf, geen wonder dat ze succes hebben geboekt met alle huishoudelijke apparaten die ze hebben gemaakt. Elk stuk apparatuur dat ze hebben gemaakt, werkt naadloos met de andere. Mijn favoriet is de SwitchBot 2, waarmee ik de hoofdingang op afstand rechtstreeks kan openen. De app is verbazingwekkend goed gemaakt en helpt je als je een hub hebt om rechtstreeks verbinding te maken met alle apparaten zonder een afstandsbediening te gebruiken. Het stelt je ook in staat om snelkoppelingen op je iPhone te verbinden. Ze hebben veel producten en ik blijf zeker checken wat dit bedrijf te bieden heeft. Ik weet vrij zeker dat hun nieuwe moderne apparaten nog verbazingwekkender zullen zijn en er is nog veel meer te ontdekken.
